Fear of safe

How do you cope with
wanting to be held and
the fear of feeling safe,
With someone who's touched
that inner part of your soul
before they've seen your face,
My heart smiles and
reaches out for her
and yet I fear her touch,
What if she were to reject me
or even worse pull me in close,
Yet still I move in closer
until I'm sitting at her feet,
So now I sit here waiting
so scared of what comes next
